Biography
Born in Berlin, Germany on April 6, 1953. Christopher Franke is very well known after being a member of the Tangerine Dream music band (one of the early famous New Age artist groups, Franke is the Drummer). In 1998 he resigned from the group and funded his own studio to develop his music.

As a synthesizer but with a classical music and composing background, Christopher knows what tunes and impression that only acoustic instrument can create despite electronic instruments. Christopher also continues his acoustic music experiences through Symphony Orchestra (Berlin Symphonic Film Orchestra is funded by Franke) and even inputted his composing talents into the Hollywood industry.

Author's Verdict
Today, electronic music are more and more advanced, parts of of them are focused in imitating acoustic musics, others are done to develop a more sensational atmosphere. What's also important is that, artists are more and more aware of how visual impression can influence the listener. By this we meant Christopher, as an visual artist, has a solid background of how visual sensation influence a person's mind, and how can it be achieved through electronic music therefore resulted in many outstanding music examples, and the creator of the background music of a motion picture.

Christopher Franke is backstage creator of the Babylon5 series. However, the only CD at this time I have for Franke is Enchanting Nature. A midi file is available for your pleasure, but be warned that you will get nothing from listening to this, the CD music is a compulsory for us to really get the feeling.

It is interesting that people still think of Franke as a part of Tangerine Dream. But Christopher is now not only resigned from them, but has created his own studio.
